Huge latency on playback in Acoustica 7.5.5

Each time when I try to play back anything in Acoustica I experience a huge latency. When I try to play a recording, Acoustica freezes and only after some four or five seconds it starts playing. Then the issue goes away and gets back after I apply any of my VST plugins.

In my hardware preferences in Acoustica I only have ASIO (which I cannot use since it only supports my integrated sound card) and Windows Audio (which I need to use in order to use my USB audio interface).

My version of Acoustica is 7.5.5 running under Windows 10 x64.

(I already sent a support ticket, but I thought that maybe someone on this forum will have a solution, too)
