Great demo. The room sounds perfect for that sax, and the blending of supermassive adds that large space shimmer, and that's a nice classy subtle shimmer too.

I'm no coder, but I always assumed it was more about how those slots translate to VST automation params, which in turn would impact session recall. If you ever tried MIDI Learning the Mode in any Valhalla plugin, you'll run into the empty slots and some weird behavior at min/max settings.
Algo would likely just be another parameter as far as midi learn, or value in a stored patch.

I don't think these reverbs have many parameters, so adding new ones wouldn't be a problem.

re: not being able to expand and be backwards compatible, I'm pretty sure that's a solved issue to an extent. Just need to store version number of the plug in in your preset and you'd be able to transform older formats into newer ones within the code.

Still, how often do you hear a new song and think, holy moly, what was that reverb?
That’s an interesting question actually. It happens on extremely rare occasions, only when listening to very atmospheric or ambient music in which the reverb is the star. Other than that, I indeed never ask myself the question.

I do hear music and just get amazed at how good artists use reverb. I just not able to dial the correct amount like never.

Around 1-20% wet usually, also remember to eq the reverb afterwards, buildups around 1000-4000hz are common. 10-20ms predelay for more realistic space. Then iterate from those :)

Stuff like this never gets old. Really beautiful improv and reverb.

The stream of improvements to the delay and verbs over the years have been very much appreciated. In the sax demo above, it is notable that when the warp parameter is moved during playback there is no glitching - just smooth alterations of pitch etc. I guess this reflects both the plugin progamming and the amount of CPU on tap but it is impressive to hear the real-time changes handled so smoothly.

Valhalla has quickly earned my respect since I bought 3 of their plugs this year. No bullshit copy protection scheme, no devaluation of the software, + freebies like Supermassive.
