Greetings...

It seems i am unable to convert from wav to bitbox format, i always get the error: "Could not create multi-sample: Could not detect MIDI note in file name". I've tried renaming the files using spaces, numbers etc...even changing lowercase .wav to .WAV.

I read early on in this thread to add a v* for the velocity layer but i don't see the velocity option anywhere. Seems it's not so much the file name but the file content perhaps?

Convert with Moss always worked fine for me. The latest update crashes when opening. Reopen and repeat. What changed?

ConvertWithMoss (v8.5.1) seems to not fail in converting all Decent Sampler libraries and presets to 1010 format. But here's an example of one that gets mangled and fails to convert the source library.

The result is a folder "VT - Stella Free Edition" containing a file PRESET.XML
and WAV files such as "Waterfall\rr1\Waterfall 52 rr1.wav" (note the "\" characters in the actual file name).

The result should be 5 folders - one for each .dspreset in the .dslibrary. Of which, "Stella - Waterfall" is only one.

If I first unZip the .dslibrary file by renaming it .zip. And I run Unzip on the .zip. Then I run ConvertWithMoss:Convert on the resulting folder structure now containing .dspreset files and sample sub-folders I get the following results:

And the resulting folder contains 5 sub-folders, one for each .dspreset, but they each only contain a PRESET.XML file. There are no sample WAVs.

I try again. First I delete all the previous results. Then I edit all 5 .dspreset XML files by changing all "\" characters to "/". The result is CWM works to make 5 sub-folders with PRESET.XML and acceptably named .WAV files.

i, thanks for this interesting program.. hope this is the right place to ask somer questions.. i see that here is maybe no time to answer, its not urgent or important, but interesting for me.

I just installed it.. on a macbook air m1, sonoma.

Question, what happens when i dont engage samplerate conversion for a transfer.. just the original data ? But tagged with what samplerate? The original one ? or 44,1 or 48 khz?
And all files get converted to 24 bit all the time or stay 16 bit files 16 bit?

And the central question, since apples internal quicktime samplerate conversion is pretty good..better as the one in logic.. at least it has been like this the last time i checked some years ago.. So i wonder if the convertter uses the os internal quicktime converter? Or an integrated one in the program? how good is the sample rate conversion? Not that i will find out in time..but are there any info or opinions regarding this topic.

If the source files are WAV and you did not select to update the chunks, the output will be the original file. Sample rate conversion is only applied if the destination format only supports a restricted number of rates. The conversion is done with the Java AudioSystem implementation. Not sure if there is a documentation of their implementation available.

Ah, I see. It always uses the name of the library file.
Will be fixed in the next update!

Got it. Do the .KMP and .KSF files need to be in that same folder? For example attached, if I select Veloc000 folder, should I put the Veloc000.KMP file into the folder with the associated .KSF files? Thank you!

You say you were able to convert the files i linked you? Interesting. Normally i would assume i have a missing or an outdated library that is required but the app was developed with java. I also asked a friend to install this app and try converting the same files and he got the same result as me.
